To Father's and to Father's to - be...

For those of you who do not know my family here is a picture of my parents. I realized this morning when I was looking for a picture of my dad that there was not one of the two of us.
Growing up I had great parents and of course still do! My dad and I were quite the pair. I have to admit that I was for sure Daddy's Little Girl. I have a lot of great memories with my dad and I know that that there will be many more to come as he soon becomes a grandfather!
Dad, there are many things that I remember growing up but one of the things that I know I will remember for a long time was something that you told me when I lived at home. I can't remember the exact situation around the statement that you made but what you said made me realize more than ever that you loved me with all of your heart. You said, "Megan, I don't know all the answers or all the right things to do as a father but what I do know is that I want to stand before my Father in Heaven and be able to tell him that I did the best that I could with what you gave me." It was then that I knew that everything you had done for me growing up was the best you knew how. Thank you! I only hope that as Jamie and I take this plunge into parenthood we are able to do the same. Thank you so much for being the best father a daughter could ask for.
Love you lots
Megan

To my handsome man and almost daddy,
I want you to know on this "Almost Father's Day" that I couldn't ask for a better lifelong companion to head into parenthood with. You are going to be the best Daddy kids could ask for. When I asked you last night if you were excited to have this baby and you said, "yes" I already knew that answer because I have begun to see it in your eyes. I can't wait to begin this journey with you. Of course there will be scary moments but to be able to watch you take your little one in your arms for the first time is going to be one of the best moments I am looking forward to. I love you with all of my heart!

Okay, now that I am sitting at the computer crying, I just want to say Megan that you are going to make a great "Mommy" along with Jamie making a great "Daddy"...won't be long now before you will both be able to hold Baby Beck in your arms! We are excited both with you and for you!
Love You,

Megan,
Thank you for the wonderful Father's Day card. You have and always will be my little girl. I still find it strange and difficult to realize that this little girl of mine is about to have a little one of her own.the seasons of life. Each is a joy unto itself. You and Jamie will make wonderful parents. Just remember, they are not yours, they are a gift. Treasure them, delight in them, and enjoy them as we do you. Love always, Dad.............
