Canada Day Long Weekend!

Jamie and I had a great long weekend. We chose to take it easy on Saturday and Sunday and then have a fun day in Vancouver on Monday. Vancouver has always been one of our favorite places to go. We love to walk along the beaches, sit and enjoy the sun, eat at our favourite mexican restuarant (Las Margaritas), and enjoy a Starbucks in the evening while strolling along looking in the local shops or just going to the beach again. Its nothing fancy but for us it sure if fun.
We went to Jamie's favorite beach, Jericho beach, and of course because of the beautiful weather it was packed with tons of people. The water was actually quite warm and the tide was out so people were rather far out in the water. The only thing I don't like about the ocean water here is that it is not crystal clear. When you are walking through the water you can't even see your feet. Definitely not use to that, Lake Michigan at home is crystal clear!!! However, we don't have the mountains in the background to look at. On are way in we decided to stop at Chapters and pick up a book for Jamie and I got a couple of Sudoku for Dummies books. I tried one of Heather's several nights ago and now I love to do them. Crazy I know since I am not one to enjoy crossword puzzles but these are different and I figure I should be trying to stimulate my brain in anyways possible these days. As pregnancy has truly depleted several of my brain cells.
As you can see, I continue to get bigger as the weeks progress. If you have lost count, I am at 33 weeks!! I can't believe it! Jamie and I now can say that we will be having a baby next month! Now that is a crazy thing to say and think about. The little guy continues to be a mover and a shaker. He enjoys shoving his limbs out on my right side or up in my ribs. I sometimes feel like he is going to wear through my skin on that side. Because I am carrying so high I also have difficulty bending down to pick things up off the floor now. My capacity for breathing goes right out the window then. Last night I even had to ask Jamie to pick my napkin off the floor at the restuarant because I couldn't reach it without passing out. Oh, he got a good laugh out of that one. I am continuing to feel pretty good just get tired quickly. I am beginning to experience the discomfort while sleeping at night so I am trying to figure out positions that are the best for me. Quite frustrating in the middle of the night though. I am still working and plan on working until the end of July and then taking off then. So, as of right now July 29th will be my last day. It's crazy to think that I have actually set a date but I suppose it is necessary. I am looking forward to the time off before this little one comes.
To all of you Americans who read my blog, Happy Fourth of July!!!! Enjoy the fireworks!
To Mama B - Happy Birthday!
To everyone else - I suppose it is back to work for us all Posted by Picasa

Sounds like you had a great Canada Day. Glad you were able to get your feet in the water. Interesting fact about the water not being clear. Guess we take that for granted don't we? Guess Jamie's going to be doing a lot of bending over for you this last month. :) You look great!, Mom
