Time for a change....

I decided to post a plethora of different pictures because it seems that when I get around to posting so much has happened and I haven't talked about any of it. All of these pictures represent many different things; from that Beck family weekend, Aidan and I getting "thrush", enjoying seeing Jody and Aidan meet, Aidan's first bath fully in the water(when we tried it the first time he was not impressed), and to Aidan's 4 week check up resulting in him weighing now 10lbs 5oz!!! Yes, that is right folks our precious little one is officially a chunk. He sure does love his food. Speaking of food.....at that appointment I told my midwife that I was done breastfeeding. I know some of you might be gasping at the thought but I must tell you that it is the best choice we have made. We are adjusting to the change and all that it brings but now I am able to heal and we are able to enjoy feeding times much more. Aidan doesn't seem to mind the formula change. He scarf's(if that is how you spell it) it down. I so much enjoy the feeding times. He is able to look at me and we have great conversations. I feel as if there is bonding that takes place now more than before. The struggle we are working on is that now feedings are more spread out 3-4 hours between feedings and the amount that he gets is around 3-4 oz. at a time. He is suppose to receive around 23 oz in a day. It doesn't seem like a lot but at the same time when we were breastfeeding I had no idea how much he was actually consuming. This weekend we will be introducing daddy to the middle of the night feedings. He's going to love it I am sure! hehehehehe. Its going to be nice at times to be able to have other people feed him for me but there sure is something special about the ability to feed your own child.
I suppose there isn't more to say right now because I have given you all the latest news. Life is going well and we are adjusting to it. Now with bottle feeding we will be able to go out and do more things because I won't have to worry about flashing the whole world in the process.
Those of you who know Jamie if you could pray for him right now. School is a bit chaotic at the moment. There has been lots of shuffling of jobs and kids. Things are not concrete at the moment and Jamie doesn't do well with change on the best of days. As well, one of his good teacher buddies has decided to take a high school position at a different school (which is a great opportunity for him). Jamie was going to be teaching with him this year and was looking forward to the year. So with that said, he could use some prayer in dealing with the chaos at the moment and working accepting the change that is inevitable. Posted by Picasa

Hi Megan,

I've been meaning to call you...
Both my kids were bottle fed and they turned our just fine! Don't worry about it for one minute! You need to do what's best for you and for Aidan. Do NOT feel guilty and don't let anyone make you feel guilty. I loved feeding my kids! And I loved that Darrell could do night time feedings on the weekend - it sure worked for us!

Hi Megan,

I just want to ditto what your friend Monica posted this evening. Alexander is healthy and happy as a bottlefed boy, and his daddy was able to bond with him over the (night!) feedings too. We split the nights so each of us only had to get up once. It worked well for us and after a while we didn't mind the night feedings at all. I found that many people tried very hard to make me feel guilty for my choice, but I wouldn't give it a second thought now.

Enjoy Aidan!
love April

Meg, sorry that we didn't come by today. We were celebrating my birthday, (my mom and I) and we went shopping and it took longer than we thought. So sorry. We definately still want to come by but mom and dad are going away for the weekend so maybe next weekend.
Take care and have a great weekend.

Hey Megs,
I am glad to hear that things are going well in the little Beck family. I can't believe that Aidan seems to be growing up so much already since I have seen him. I will praying for all of you as you continue to experience a time of transition. If Jamie is anything like his sister, I fully understand the difficulty with change.
love you,
Jody

Megan,
I am glad you are doing what you know to be best for you and your baby, and that you two can heal and enjoy the feeding times MUCH more. And what a blessing that he takes a bottle! My babies would never take a bottle from day one, until I quit nursing them, and I sure tried! Had my first taken a bottle, I wouldn't have kept up with the nursing thing. oh well, God knows. And how precious you (and soon his daddy!) can have those moments with him that are no longer such a struggle! PTL!
God's blessings on you! And I heard from Jody that your little (ah, and now getting bigger!) guy is very cute. :-)

Hey Megan,

I understand the struggle of switching from breast to bottle, and I TOTALLY agree that bottlefeeding is JUST as bonding. Natalie still thinks I'm he world when I hold her bottle and cuddle with her! I'm so glad Aidan is taking the bottle well and that you're feeling better. =)

Megan, what a great montague of pictures. I'm glad to hear that his last full under water bath went better than his first. I wonder if he will be like Max and enjoy the water more and more. I'm also glad to hear of your decision to bottle feed. More than that, your peace and contentment with the choice, which was what I was praying for. Your a great Mom Megan, enjoy the season.
Love always, Dad......Papa.....
