A Day at the Lake

Yesterday, Jamie and the rest of the grade 8 teachers took the group to Alouette Lake. It is the end of every school year tradition. The neat part is that the spouses of the teachers that have children are all welcome to come. This, of course, was our first year going. It was Aidan and I's first time the Alouette Lake. It was just a gorgeous day. We were curious as to how he would do. He was great! He spent most of the time on his daddy's shoulders as the trucked around the beach front supervising the students.

It was his first time in the water. He loves the bath but we weren't sure how he would do at a lake. As you can tell he loved it. I thought the water was cold but he didn't seem to mind at all. He didn't even seem to mind the rocky bottom. He loved watching the kids out in the water. We were so impressed. This is definitely a good thing seeing as we will be spending a good amount of time at Lake Michigan when we go to visit my family. So, Nana and Papa, watch out we've got a water lover on our hands:)

There were a couple of teacher's and their wives that came with their kids. I had brought some toys for Aidan to play with and it so happened that the other kids thought they would be fun to play with as well. It was great because then Aidan got the chance to play with other kids around. He just seemed to love to be around all the students and the other kids. We started packing up around 1pm and he was home in time for his second nap. It was the perfect day; fun in the sun with time for a well needed nap. I am so looking forward to playing with him in the water when we go to Michigan.

This afternoon I started chasing him around the house and here he is cornered just laughing. He loves to be chased but he always gets himself backed into a corner. The whole time he is laughing away. This morning we met our friends Monica and Audrey for coffee and a good walk around Mill Lake. Aidan didn't really get his first nap in but had a bit of a catnap when we were walking around the lake. However, when we stopped he immediately woke up. It was a rather short lived nap but it seemed to work.

We did some errands and found ourselves and Value Village. I have started to become the bargain shopper. I am falling in love with that store. Today I found a black purse from Aldo! I couldn't believe it. It was the kind that I had seen when they first came out and I loved it but was not ready to pay full price for it. I was thrilled. I found a pair of capri's and a nice chocolate brown t-shirt. This was my second trip there in one week because Monday was their 50% off day. When everything in the store in 50% the regular price. Everyone in the family got something this week. What a great week and it isn't over yet.

This of course is just a cute picture!

Megan, thanks for continuing to take the time to post pictures and a story to help us keep up with your lives. We all enjoy them so much. It is so good for me to see Aidan and his life develop. You all sure seem to be having fun in your life experience. I'm glad that Aidan enjoys the water. We can give him as much of it as he likes. We an all teach him how to build sand castles. I love the picture where Aidan looks like the "life of Reiley", an old TV program way before your time, with his arms behind his head. Can't wait to see you all. Love Papa.........
