5 Years!

Friday, Jamie and I went to Vancouver for our anniversary date! We have been married 5 years. As we looked back over the years we couldn't believe that these years have gone so fast. It truly has been an adventure that I wouldn't want to take with anyone else! We have had such a great 5 years that we can't wait to see what happens in the next five!

It was so great to get out and just be the two of us. We hadn't gone on a date in awhile. We went for dinner to the Keg then hit the beach for a stroll with our Starbucks in hand. It couldn't have been a better night. Heather and Matt came over and watched our munchkin and it sounds like they had a great time. (Thanks guys, we really appreciated it)

This past week was lots of fun. We spent lots of time in or around water. One evening we got the hose out and let Aidan play in it. He really didn't know what to do with it because the water was soooo cold but he sure did love watching it. We went out to Cultus Lake Wednesday morning (the hottest day of the week) and enjoyed the water and the warm breeze that kept us cool. It was nice because we got their before the crowds came. Aidan was suppose to sleep during our time there but that didn't really happen. He doesn't like to miss out on anything so he fought through his tiredness.

This week we have also been working on finding a medication to knock him out when we fly to Michigan. We had tried Gravol at Christmas and found that it didn't affect him at all. I tried Benedryl last weekend and instead of making him tired he became rather hyper. Not really doing the job we wanted. My dad had told me about another medication to try and so our friend prescribed it for us. It doesn't really knock him out like I would love but it does make him sleepy. I am hoping that for the four hour flight he will sleep for at least 2 hours of it. My ideal situation would be having him out for the entire flight but I am suspecting that won't happen. The reason I want him to sleep is because he loves to be moving all the time and for him to sit on our laps for 4 hours and be happy is HIGHLY unlikely. The idea of a small crapped space with LOTS of other people with a grumpy/screaming child is not my idea of a good flight. So here's hoping that it will work. All of your prayers that it works would be greatly appreciated!

I would call the Dr and see what they say. When Ray was two he had earaches and the Dr gave us Phinegren and codeine. We called it the earache cocktail. He gave it to us so we could get sleep. He would cry all night and be asleep all day.

You probably won't see this before you come, but I had a spare moment and thought I'd take a peak at your blog. Hard to believe, 5 years, seems like much less than that. But it also seems like Aidan was just born. Tell Aidan that the water won't bother as much with the new water shoes that Nana got him. He will have plenty of toys to play with after your Mom went shopping yeserday. We are all looking forward to seeing you all. We are praying for a safe and one in which Aidan sleeps all the way. Love, Papa................
