The Latest....

It has been a busy week. I am getting the hang of working at home. I do have to say though that it is going to be a juggling act since I have never done this before. It has been nice having Jamie home this month as I ease into things. I do know though that it will be hugely different come Sept. Right now I have a desk in our living room amoung Aidan's toys. That way, if I am working and he is content to play on his own then we can be together. I am finding that as long as I am in the same room with him, he is OK to play for awhile on his own. For that I am thankful. For example, right now he is playing with his little piano at my feet as I type. He sure knows how to serenade me while I work :)

In other news, Aidan has officially starting walking. It was last Sunday/Monday when we started to notice that he was walking a lot more than crawling. He loves walking and playing with my swiffer (thanks mom). When we were in Michigan he was playing with Nana's and would play with it for awhile. So, when we got home I got it out and he immediately starting playing with it. The latest is that he walks around with the swiffer like it is his cane or he sits with it and beats against the ground. I do try to discourage the beating against the floor for the sake of our tenants downstairs. But he sure has taken a liking towards walking. He quickly learned how to stand up without using something to pull himself up with. He may still look like a drunken sailor...but he is walking. So does that mean we have a toddler now instead of a baby??? Oh dear, my little boy is growing up!

The other latest thing in our house is this new toy. You can't see it the best in the picture but it is a Word Whammer. You put letters into the magnet thing and he spells words and gives you the sounds of letters. It is definitely over Aidan's age for comprehension but the kid loves to put the magnet letters in and out of the Word Whammer. Our friends have one at their house and he loved playing with it and so we decided that as a early birthday present we would get one. It is so cute watching him play with the magnets. He also enjoys taking the magnets off the fridge and throwing them on the ground...definitely all boy!

Aidan looks like he's grown a lot! So glad we could find another use for the swifter. Still haven't found all the alphabet magnets since you were here but they keep popping up in strange places. Love mom
