It has taken me awhile to learn how to upload video's onto my blog. I don't know how long the icon has been there but now there is a video attachement (that wasn't there before) and it makes my life so much easier. Now, I don't have to learn how to upload video's from google (which for me, was NOT easy) and all I have to do is click a button. Gotta love it when they make technology so user friendly!
Aidan has always enjoyed books but it seems in the past month, or so, they have truly become a love. He now brings books for us to read to him. His attention span for the books is still not all that long but he loves looking at the pictures. When he is in the mood he will even read the book to you. He already has his favorite books.....that he brings over and over again to be read. It has also become routine that when we are in the car he has a book to read. I am hoping that this continues so that when we are driving for long periods he can amuse himself with his books. For most everyone on both sides of this family will be happy to hear of his love of books.
Yesterday, I gave Aidan his first whole apple. He has had chucks of apple and applesauce but never the whole thing. I have a friend that told me that she use to put her daughter in her high chair and give her an apple just so that she could have some time to get things done during the day. I, of course, loved this idea and when we got home from grocery shopping decided it was time to put this to the test. As you can see, he loved it. At first he wasn't sure what to do with it but after showing him once that he needed to bite into the apple, he was set. He attacked the apple with great force. I wouldn't let go until he was finished. For his first apple attempt Jamie and I were impressed. I would say he ate about half of it.
So far, we have had a relaxing weekend. Jamie and I were able to go out on a date (thanks to Papa B watching Bubs) Friday night. We went for dinner and a movie. We saw The Kingdom. Both of us like it and were happy with the ending. I suppose that won't mean much if you haven't seen the movie yourself:) Yesterday was a day of cleaning and errands. In the evening we made homemade pizza's and had Matt and Heather over. It was great to spend time with them. We always have a good time. Have I mentioned yet, that I am soooo excited that they are having a baby???? Well, I am! I can't wait to meet this little bean. I am trying to decide right now what I think they are having. It is a tough call at this point but maybe a.....oh I can't say.....that just wouldn't be nice:) I guess we will all have to wait and see :) The one thing I do know, without a doubt, is that they both are going to make great parents! We are so excited for you guys!

The Kingdom, great movie hey?! Jon and I really liked it too. We are thrilled for Matt and Heather too. I'm thankful you've had such a nice weekend so far. Good job Aidan for your first attempt at an apple.

Thanks so much for the video clip. He definitely sounds like he is talking, but then when you listen closely you can't make out any words. I can't believe it is only two weeks til we see you all, very exciting, it kinda snuck up on me.

I always enjoy the pictures you post of Aidan, but hearing Aidan's cute little voice today in the video clip was just too precious. Thanks for updating so often.

Love the video clip! So cute!
What an adorable video clip Megs! Thanks so much for posting! I listen to it several times a day.....is there a duck on that page? I think he is telling us that the ducks go, 'quack' 'quack' 'quack' when his voice goes low. What do you think?
Thanks for the great video. Aidan you are such a good reader. I think I could hear the same inflection your mom or dad must use when they read that book to you. I am definitely looking forward to reading to you. Love ya Nanna
M is for Monkeys. Tell Aidan the book is on it way. Another one like the lady bugs. Monkeys jumping on the bed. I am glad that you and Ben enjoy reading and I hope that Aidan continues to enjoy reading as well. Great new healthy life experiences, apples, why didn't I think of that. I only wish I were there to help eat the other half with him. Thanks again, Dad..........
