Fun Times

This past week we have had a great time documenting more fun times that we have during the day. Aidan loves to take self-portraits with me. I am ableto turn the screen on the camera so he can see us while we take the picture. I love this picture of the two of us because his eyes are so blue!!! I am constantly reminded of my silly prayer I asked God so long ago when Jamie and I started talking about having kids. I had asked God if He would give me a child with blue eyes just like Jamie's. I sure got my wish!
Jamie had put Aidan up on his legs one afternoon to watch one of his movies and he just thought it was the best thing ever. Aidan absolutely loves it when Jamie comes home from school to play with him. Jamie has been chasing him around the house lately and it is so cute. When Aidan wants to be chased he will run away from Jamie and will stop and turn to look at him with this smile. He doesn't have to say a thing you just know what he wants. Then, off they go tearing through house yelling and laughing at the top of their lungs. I seriously have to find a corner to stand in so that I don't get run over.
This week I hit 30 weeks. I am definitely starting to feel uncomfortable at night and I can't wait for the day that I can sleep on my stomach again. Don't get me wrong, I love being pregnant and I wouldn't trade it for anything; but I am such a stomach sleeper that I long for it towards the end. At my last midwife appointment I got my results from the glucose screening test I took and the results were negative, meaing no gestational diabetes for me! I took the test because Aidan was almost 9lbs and I do have diabetes that run in my family. We thought it best to test so that if I did have it we would know and do the necessary to work with it. Needless to say we were happy to hear we don't have to deal worry about it; however, my odds of having a smaller baby this time around are great.
Aidan has been doing well with the sleeping in the "big boy" bed this week. We have been putting books inside the door before we go to bed so that if he wakes up before we are ready then he can read and entertain himself for awhile. He was so content to talk and play in his crib that we didn't really want him lose that when he transitioned to a bed. He has taken to quite well. This morning he woke up earlier than usual and I wasn't even out of bed yet. He was talking but then got quiet for awhile so I figured he had fallen back to sleep about 30 minutes later Jamie and I were awakened by him knocking on his door. Apparently, he figured he had read his books and had waited long enough and he was ready to get on with the day. It was so cute.

I hope this video makes all of you laugh as much as it did for me. I know that video's only capture a small glimpse of what goes on but they are definitely better than just words. Jamie started this new game with Aidan.... sliding him on the hardwood floor around the area rug (the new race track). Everytime Jamie stopped Aidan would sit back down and make his noise (that means again) and say "please." At one point Jamie had to sit down because he was gettig rather dizzy. The funny thing is......is that Jamie does not do well with things that make him dizzy and he was the one that came up with the fun game :) I think that made me laugh more than anything. Aidan kept asking so nicely and Jamie just wanted to sit down and not get sick.

Your right, sometimes it is the little things in life that are such a blessing; blue eyes, a childs smile, the joy of seeing a dad and son play and enjoy being silly. Tell Aidan that Papa can hardly wait to see him and chase him around the house and enjoy his company and yours. I'm glad that the last trimester is going well so far. I pray for you and the baby every day. See you all soon. Love Papa...................
