So Much Change

Change is something that I have never shyed away from; in fact, it has always been something I welcomed. We said goodbye to Heather and Matt this past weekend as they make their new home in Quesnel. I must say I am rather excited for them for this new change in their lives however; it then makes a change in our lives that I am not quite sure I like at the moment. However, I am confident in knowing that God has them exactly where He wants them and for that I am truly grateful and can't wait to hear all about what He is doing in their lives in Quesnel.

To you Heather and Matt, we will miss you but we are excited for you as you take this new plunge. I will phone you.....if you phone me :) (hehehehe)

Aidan has been growing and changing with every new day. He has added many new words to his vocabulary. His new words and phrases are: Mommy, Uncki, Yes, Nani, Papi, and kick the ball. He has a word that he repeats for Grandpa but we are still trying to figure it out:) It is so fun to listen to his jibberish and then realize that there are more words that are becoming understandable with every new day. We still can't imagine what life will be like when his talking really picks up because then we won't be able to get him to be quiet. The boy talks all the time!

He has found a new fascination with Jamie's shoes. He loves to put them on and walk around with them on. He can actually keep them on for a bit as long as he takes his time walking. When I took this picture of him in Jamie's shoes we couldn't believe how big he looks. He definitely is not baby Aidan anymore. Although he will always be "Baby Aidan" to us.

We have introduced a new time-out naughty corner in our house. I was putting him on his bed for time-outs but I was finding that it didn't really seem to phase him all that much. Now his naughty corner is in a spot where he can still see what I am doing and he hates that because then he is not apart of it. So, far it has been working but we will see how long it lasts. He is getting a bit better and listening and obeying but he definitely still has his moments of strong rebellion.

Jaxon is continually changing and growing as well. He gives us smiles now and loves to watch Aidan play. I think there are times when if he could give us an audible laugh he would. He is growing like a weed. I now have had to pull out the 3-6 months clothes as I am finding that 0-3 month sleepers are too short on him. I am sure that Aidan moved this quickly through clothes as well but I just don't remember it that well.

We are working on getting him to take naps in his crib or the playpen right now but it is a battle. He loves to sleep in our arms or in his swing but I really don't want that to become a habit. He is a screamer just like Aidan was in that when he doesn't like something he will scream for a long time. I haven't gotten to the point where I feel comfortable letting him cry it out because he will cry for 30-45 minutes +++. I have noticed that he sleeps better when there is noise. This was the complete opposite to Aidan because there was no other noise around for Aidan. However, Jaxon has to put up with Aidan's noise constantly so when it is quiet in his room I don't think he knows how to fall asleep in that environment. Crazy how similar they can be but at the same time so different!

Aidan loves playing with these old clips that I had from an old set of hot rollers. He figured out quickly that they belong in your hair and so he always asks for them to be put in his hair. Silly boy.

Megan, the boys are such a blast. You're right, they do change alot and often more quickly than we might like. How they can be so alike and so different at the same time is beyond me. I can't believe how much I miss them since being there last month. I'm glad that Jamie is home for the summer to help. We are looking forward to seeing you all again in Sept.
We are also happy for Matt and Heather as they start a new chapter in their lives, even though I know that you all miss them terribly. Send us their new address when you can. Thanxs again for the wonderful pictures and story of your lives. Give the boys a hug from Papa. Love, Dad..........
