Ok, so I know I have not posted in a long while. This last month of August has been crazy busy and I just have found time to blog....until now. I also learned how to add more than 5 pictures at a time so they are in order from this past weekend in Quesnel moving backwards.

We decided to leave last Thursday for
Quesnel to visit Heather and Matt. And Dave, Doris, Jody, Darin and
Caily would be joining us on Friday. Aidan decided to sit in
Jaxon's carseat while we got everything packed. He thought it was quite the seat for himself. I must say he was being rather cute.
The car ride up to Quesnel was definitely an interesting one. We decided to put Aidan in a pull-up and told him that when he needed to go potty that he needed to tell us. He did pretty well in letting us know and we only had one pull-up that did not remain dry. However, our last hour of the trip (which took us 1 hour and 20 minutes) was hilarious. Aidan decided that he needed to tell us that he needed to go "bum" every 5-10 minutes. We didn't always think he was telling the truth but since he was telling us he needed to go we decided that we needed to honor that and stop and let him go. We stopped on the side of the road 6 times between Williams Lake and Quesnel and every time we stopped he went. And it wasn't just a little bit....he went and went. By the 4th stop Jamie and I couldn't stop laughing.
The time with Heather and Matt was really good. Thanks guys for opening your home to all of us crazies. We will for sure have to come again.....
Auntie Heather and
Jaxon. Need I say more.

Aidan's 2
nd birthday was the Sunday we were there and so we were able to celebrate all together. It was a fun time. Aidan is not quite sure what to make of all the camera flashes that were going off in this picture but it was the only good one of the three of us. I brought the cake mix and frosting with us and made it up there that Saturday. Jamie and I were talking on the way up to
Quesnel that we couldn't believe that 2 years has gone by. He is getting so big....he definitely is not baby Aidan anymore :)

Aidan decided that he would pick up his piece of cake (frosting on the bottom) and eat it that way. This was his first bite of birthday cake. The whole time he was eating he kept saying "cake" Very cute.
Can you tell he wanted to enjoy every last bite/lick of his cake???

The week leading up to all of us heading to
Quesnel we decided to go out to White Rock for fish and chips and to let Aidan and
Caily enjoy the water after church on Sunday. This was at the
restaurant where we had fish and chips. Aidan thought it would be fun to where his daddy's sunglasses.
Jods took this picture. Thanks
Jods... I love it!
Jaxon is doing well. We had gotten into a good routine with him before heading up to Quesnel but since we have gotten back he has been struggling to go down for naps and does not seem to like the swing that much anymore. We aren't sure what changed but I am hoping we can get back into the routine we had. It was such a good one. He was napping so well....at the same time as Aidan even....I was really enjoying that little bit of time to myself. I suppose only time will tell.
It was low tide when we were in White Rock and Aidan absolutely loved to run through the small little pools of water. At one point he had found a dead crab and was picking it up and throwing it. At first I didn't really like that idea but Jamie reminded me that he is a boy and that it a boy thing to do.
Aidan had found a big rock that Jamie kept throwing up in the air and letting it splash down in the water. Aidan thought that was the funniest thing ever. I am sure that in his mind it was just a big ball. :)

Saturday we decided to all go to the zoo. It was a nice warm day and it was a chance for Aidan and
Caily to get to know each other more. As you can see at times they were quite taken with one another.

We stopped for an ice cream break and
Caily thoroughly enjoyed Jody's ice cream
sandwhich. It was quite fun to watch. Aidan kept getting bites of
every one's ice cream treats. I think he liked Grandma's ice cream cone the best.

Grandma and Aidan sharing.

Both
Caily and Aidan enjoyed the little ponies that were let loose for the day. I don't think Aidan quite knew what to do with the horse his size. He didn't really want to leave him. But the train tracks
distracted him. The nice thing about the Vancouver Zoo is there are plenty of areas for your kids to run and play. One of Aidan's favorite things is the train and train tracks. He loved walking on them and then he would wave at the train when it would go driving by.

We had a really good time with Jody and
Caily when they were up here. It was a good chance for Aidan and
Caily to spend some more time together. Thanks for coming guys!.
Some of you might be wondering how potty training is going......well I can say that it is still going but we have not mastered it completely. He does really well during the day at home. I have to remind him that we need to go potty and normally he always goes when put on the potty. However, there are times when he just doesn't say anything and then he pees his pants. Pooping is a completely different story. We are having difficulty getting him to poop on the potty. Not sure what the deal is but normally his poo comes right after his nap in the afternoon. What normally happens is he poos in his sleep and then when I go to get him up from his nap the deed is already done. I keep reminding myself that it will come with time but
somedays it is just not fast enough.
