The Countdown Begins

Tomorrow begins the countdown for when I will no longer be a basketball widow and my boys will have their daddy back. It is this time every year that life gets rather crazy for us. Jamie coaches grade 8 basekteball. Their season is not all that crazy with games however; it seems to take him away for longer periods during the week. They always play two games a week and they practice on the alternate days. This week however begins a 14 day stint where he has bball 13 out of the next 14 days. It is a crazy schedule but we have learned how to manage and deal with the craziness. We may not see each other until Christmas but we will sure have fun trying. This will be first year that I will take two boys to the games. I am curious of how it will go because all last year Aidan did not always sit still during the entire game. I think he can do it better this year and Jaxon is showing to be more layed back so I am hoping he will be content to lounge in his car seat for times when Aidan just needs to get up and run around.

A couple of weekends ago Jamie was shaving and Aidan decided that he needed to get in on the action as well. He thought it was hilarious. He is so observant it is scary. He has not started repeating what we say but he sure does watch and repeat actions.

What a sweet boy!
Aidan has definitely been using more words and putting them into sentence form these days. He is even more willing to learn new words. Sometimes I can figure it out no problem but other times I have to make a few guesses before I get it right but he sure tells me when I get it right. It is almost like he does the happy dance for me when I get what he is saying. Some of his new words and/or sentences are:
hockey
monkey
dump truck
moos (cows) eat
kids sleepy?
I poop Mommy
Mommy eat please
bubbles
bubbles all gone

He has discovered that when we wash dishes there are bubbles in the sink. As you can tell he LOVES bubbles! Almost everynight when Jamie or I do the dishes he goes and gets his step stool and plays with the bubbles. For whatever reason he thinks that these bubbles go on his head.

Jaxon is getting more expressive with his face and definitely more smiley. He doesn't always give them out for the camera because of the darn red flash light that comes on before you take the picture but every so often we get one. He is now 6 months old and a big boy. I think that if he could he would quit with the formula and eat only baby food. For some reason I have found it harder to get into a good eating routine with him. I think we are getting there now though. At his check up he tipped the scale at just over 18 pounds. He has not really grown in lenth but his head circumference has grown. The doctor does not seem to be concerned with the lack of length growth so we are not worried. I figure that over Christmas he will just have a huge growth spurt. He is getting good at sitting up on his own these days. He can do it all by himself for a good amount of time but if he gets excited or leans to far to reach a toy he topples over.
Our family has seems to be fighting a cold. It started with Aidan over a week ago and Jaxon then got it. He hasn't completely kicked it because he has a cough now. I am actually taking him to the doctor tomorrow to make sure that his cough has not progressed into anything further. Jamie has not felt 100% this weekend. I hope he does not get sick this week because of his busy schedule. So far I am doing alright and feel fine. Let's hope that it stays that way.

Thanks for posting pictures Megs!! I was so excited when I checked your blog just now and there was a new post complete with pictures! We are enjoying spending time with Caily but missing Aidan and Jaxon(tell them that Pa and Mimi say 'hi'!) Dad missed his Saturday morning breakfast with Aidan.
Love you!

Precious boys you have! Just think, now you're busy watching Jamie, and one day you'll be chasing the boys' games... you may even be busier.

Megan, thanks for the new pictures. How they grow. We have been enjoying Aidan's new words on Skype. Can hardly wait to see you all at Christmas. We have the basketball hoop up in the basement for Aidan and will be getting toys from a Grandma at work. Between that and the new snow to play in and making Christmas cookies, we should all have a ball. Ben will be coming home in 1 1/2 weeks. Love, Papa.................
