Happy Birthday to my Baby!

I can't believe that a year has already gone by. In some ways it seems like a year but other moments I feel like it was just yesterday when he came. We have completely enjoyed watching Jaxon grow up. He is definitely his own individual and no one can tell him otherwise. He may do things a bit slower than Aidan did but he does them just the same.

As I have thought back over this past year with Jaxon the things that have brought us the most joy are his ability to light up a room with his smile; his cuddles he freely gives out; his determination in everything; his laugh; his contentedness and yes, even his stubbornness. I never thought I would say that his stubborn personality would be a character quality I would love but there isn't much I don't love about this boy :) (or both of my boys for that matter).

Baby to Boy in one haircut.
Yesterday, we all got our haircuts. There was no plan or thought about cutting Jaxon's hair but when we were there we realized it was getting rather long. If we waited until our friend and hairdresser got back from a missions trip then it would be way too long. So, we had her buzz it. It was crazy to see the transformation from baby to boy happen.

Today, we were going to have a Birthday Party/Open House in the afternoon however; Aidan has gotten sick and was throwing up all night so we thought it best to cancel. We are still working out if we will reschedule or not. I think if we do it will be more of an Open House. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed but the family comes first. We can have people over anytime. I suppose this just means we have a lot more food to eat =) Can't say I am complaining all that much!
After both of the boys woke up from their morning nap we decided that Jaxon could open his presents. It was quite funny to watch him work at the paper. Aidan helped him out a bit but he did take a stab at pulling at the paper. He seemed to understand that these presents were for him.

Mimi and Pa (Jamie's parents) got him the Little People Farm set. They are in Texas right now visiting with the newest edition to the Beck Family so, I had gone and got his present and they said he could open it on his bday. I think we will still try to celebrate his bday when they get back.
Jaxon has always seemed to like animals. He was so enamored with the farm set and the animals. I think he is really going to enjoy it.
Thanks Mimi and Pa!
Jamie had to assemble the toy that Nana and Papa (Megan's parents) got him. But it is a great toy that he can sit and ride, stand and push or pull. Three different things as he gets older and stronger. Right now he can stand behind it and push no problem......however......
I think he likes this position the best! We spent a fair bit of time pushing him down the hallway and back. Kind of easy to tell by the smile that he likes to ride it!
Thanks Nana and Papa!
It has seemed like a strange day as it is Jaxon's birthday but Aidan is sick and family is gone. But we are making the most of it and we will have fun later! If that is one thing that I have learned growing up is that you have move and adjust to the things that life throws at you. We can always celebrate a bday another time as well.

Happy Birthday Jaxon! Thanks for the post Megan, I am glad to hear that you were able to celebrate Jaxon birthday, even with a sick brother on the loose. Thanks for the pictures, I cannot believe how big he is getting and how old he looks, especially with his haircut, it is amazing how a hair cut can make them look so much older. Hopefully Aidan feels better soon.
