My Crazies!

I have been trying to more deliberate at taking more pictures of the boys playing and be silly. They have been playing really well together the last little while. It has been fun to try to capture their times together. Aidan loves to have Jaxon play with him and Jaxon just LOVES his big brother.

Will they be partner's in crime?? Absolutely. This is a given. However, my prayer has been that they will be brother's that love to spend time together and truly do love each other. Jamie and I have been curious how they will be together when they get older and want to play sports. Will Jaxon be jealous when Aidan gets to play a sport before he does?? Probably. Will one be better at a certain sport than the other? Will this cause a rift in their relationship?? These are not things that I worry about but they are definite things that do pop in my head because they both love to play sports right now. It will be interesting as they continue to grow and get older.

The new thing that Aidan has been figuring out is how to make silly faces. The first one that he learned was how to raise his eyebrows, however when he raises his eyebrows he has to open his mouth at the same time. It is absolutely hilarious and Jamie and I just bust out laughing almost every time he does it. Jamie has enjoyed teaching Aidan other funny faces as well. And of course Jaxon then tries to chime in and his faces just turn into a open mouth with screams that follow. They think they are absolutely hilarious!

When Jamie was in Vegas several weeks ago he went to the M&M store and bought these shirts for the boys. They love them and always seem to want to wear them together. The other day I put Jaxon's on him and Aidan immediately wanted to wear his. I didn't think that they would necessarily notice or care if the other wasn't wearing it but they completely notice. It is so funny!. Jaxon's is already getting small and we are skeptical that it will last him the whole summer.

The weather has been gorgeous the last little while and the boys have enjoyed going outside. The huge dirt pile in our front yard has become their castle. They stand at the top and yell, "I'm the king of the castle!" We have definitely hit the stage where we are starting to have play clothes and nice clothes. They get so dirty when they go outside that I don't want to have to worry about if I will be able to get that stain out. Friends of ours actually have play clothes bins for their boys so they know that before they go outside to play they need to make sure to change and put those clothes on. I am thinking we will be introducing this idea very shortly.

The boys were waiting for their daddy to get home one afternoon and so they were watching for him out the front window. Pretty soon they noticed that there was a fly in our window. Aidan thought it would be fun to try to catch it in a yogurt container. I got him the container and the fun started. Aidan figured out how to catch the fly fairly quickly. Jaxon thought it was hilarious and just laughed every time Aidan caught it.

Eventually the fly had enough of this game and decided to lay down and die. Jaxon realized that the fly was dead and kept saying "bye bye fly" Of course then Aidan felt bad that he killed the fly and that Jamie didn't get to see that he had actually got the fly. I tried to reassure him that I had taken pictures so that daddy could see that he did in fact catch the fly. He finally realized that was a good alternative and couldn't wait to tell daddy and show him the pictures.

I can't believe that next weekend will be Jaxon's 2nd birthday (May 24). It is a long weekend here and so we have to decide what we are going to do. I don't think we are going to have a big birthday party but we may do a small bbq with family and friends. But I suppose that depends on if people will be around. Seeing as it is a long weekend it may mean that people will be heading away for the weekend. So, we will see. It is crazy to think about that my little one will be 2 years old. In my mind he is my little baby....even though I know he is far from being a baby anymore. I think because he is my youngest and mostly likely (hopefully) last he will always be the baby.

i'm having fun catching up on your blog a bit and enjoying seeing how your 2 boys interact. my 2 are a bit further apart in age (2.5 years), but i can hardly wait before they are able to play together and interact like your boys do. i also had to laugh at the (hopefully) when you talk about being done having kids. that's exactly how i feel, girl! 2 boys is PLENTY!!! (of course, try telling that to my husband!)
