Happy Halloween!

The first couple of pictures in the clown suit are for my parents. This was the clown outfit that I wore when I was his age. My mom had given it to me awhile back. I wanted to take a picture of Aidan in the outfit for my mom and dad because I know that they have a picture of me just like this (well kind of). Apparently, I didn't wear a wig....just a red nose.
Aidan was all set to be a clown for halloween. He seemed super excited about it and then the four year old mind decided to come up with something else. Saturday morning he informed me that he wanted to be a super hero. I have no idea where this idea of a super hero came from but he is a boy (enough said).
I have to admit I started to panic just a bit as I was pretty certain there was no way that I was going to find a super hero outfit in the stores. I promised that we would check Value Village and see what we could find. As we were looking at VV we found a couple of options. A Spiderman outfit for $39.99 (which he wanted) and a Power Ranger for $14.99. I had to break his heart and tell him I was not going to pay that much money. I showed him the Power Ranger and he relunctantly agreed. As we were looking further he made the comment that he wanted it to have a cape. A cape! At this moment I knew that we were NOT going to be getting the Power Ranger outfit. I looked around and could not find a cape anywhere. However, what I did find was a black apron! I knew right then and there that THIS was going to be our cape. I then remembered he had a batman shirt at home! DONE, Batman it was!
Can you see his excitement?! He was thrilled and his outfit only cost me $3.99!
Oh Jaxon our Dragon or Dinosaur....whichever you choose. Jaxon had two outfits to choose from The Dragon/Dino or a Lion outfit. I had him try on both (one too small; one too big) and let him choose. Well, he chose the Dragon/Dino. I have no idea where it came from but when I asked him today what he was going to wear he knew exactly what he wanted. It was the too small outfit but thankfully he has green gum boots that covered up the bare skin from his legs (well kind of).
These are the faces that I get now when I ask them to smile or "say cheese". Seriously, Jaxon cannot smile normally anymore on cue. Aidan is doing better but still a bit of a silly face. I had to laugh because this truly is a pure picture of our lives....their crazy but beautiful faces.
The plan for trick or treating was to drive to Mimi and Pa's house and get the first pieces of candy and then head back to our neighborhood to walk the streets with some friends. They loved getting their first pieces of candy. Immediately Jaxon asked if he could have one. I told him that when we were all done we would go home and he could pick out some pieces to eat.
Aidan was awesome this year. He ran with our friends kids (that are all older) and would knock on the doors asking for candy. There was never a time that I had to remind him to say "Thank You" It did my heart good to watch my boy go on his own but to have such good manners. I told him afterwards that I was so proud of him. The beaming smile that I received was priceless.
Jaxon and I always brought up the rear but it didn't seem to bother him. He was super excited to go and get candy and to say "thank you" and "have a good night". He has become our copy cat and after he would get his candy and we were about to leave I would say thank you and have a good night. He would then follow suit with " have a good night". When we had walked almost 1km he started asking if we would carry him. I couldn't believe that he walked so far. We had walked a different way so we were actually really close to our house so I walked home with the kids and Jamie ran and got the van. We hit some of our neighbors before heading home. The best part...we were home before bedtime....
