For those of you who know our family bball is a huge part. So, we play bball all the time and we become creative on what we use for bball hoops. A couple of weekends ago we are playing and we decided to bring the bball hoop from the basement to the toy room. It was definitely a good choice as the boys do love to play and this way they can go without feeling that they need a parent to come with them.
For the longest time Jaxon would only shoot the ball granny style. However, this time he started shooting with better form :) It is funny to see how the boys do love sports but there is a difference. Aidan lives and breathes sports but also desires to do them correctly. Whereas Jaxon just loves to be apart of the game and doesn't really care if his form is great. We were laughing at them the other night because they were playing football and there was a huge contrast between offensive and defensive player. Aidan was definitely the offensive player (carrying and throwing the ball) and Jaxon was the defense. He would just try to hit the ball out of Aidan hands. He didn't really care to throw the ball. When we tried to get him to catch the football he would hold out one hand too catch. Hilarious!
This is not a great shot but I had to include it because he was trying to make a basket from shooting from the door. You can see how far away he is from the hoop. In this shot he didn't make it but he did make it a couple of times. He was so proud of himself.
I love this shot! Aidan actually smiling a natural smile and not his "cheese" smile. He looks so grown up with his haircut however, I don't think we will be shaving it down like this again. When we had Dawn shave it he started to cry. He has gotten use to it but he did not like it at first. We had no idea shaving his head would invoke such tears. We thought it would be a good idea since his hair grows fast and it is thick like mine.
We have been dealing with what seems like a lot of sickness in our house. The boys had pink eye before Halloween; then I got an upper respiratory infection leading to antibiotics; Jamie finally got the cold that attacked his voice and Monday night Jaxon starting puking. He only puked for less than 24 hours and only had a fever for about the same amount of time as well. He seems to fine now except for not wanting to eat lots yet....which if you know my boys this is NOT normal. So, we will just take it day by day and hopefully he will get his appetite back shortly.
We celebrated Jamie's bday on Monday night with this parents and sadly that was the day that Jamie was so sick that he decided to stay home from school. Life for him has been busy and not it will only be getting crazier. Bball tryouts have started this week and that means after school practices and early morning practices. The boys get really excited for this season as we get to go to the gym and watch him team play. However, with him doing is Master's at the same time there is a lot more juggling involved.
I am looking forward to this season as well because not only do I get to go and watch Jamie coach but I get to meet the parents of the boys that do come to the games. There are not that many parents that do get to come or want to come to the games and I find that I get to be the pseudo parent cheering. I have always felt that I have had a great opportunity to allow God to work to be an encouragement to the parents I get to meet. I have had many neat opportunities to show God's love, compassion and encouragement to the parents and kids that I come in contact with. It is so awesome!
