Last night Aidan was in the helping mood. It doesn't always happen. He kept asking to help me with dinner but I had just finished and put dinner in the oven. I was wracking my brain to come up with something for him to do. I quickly realized I had a large stack of dirty dishes......yes, that is right I am an advocate child labor :) Just kidding. But when the kids wants to help I figure it doesn't hurt.
Of course, Jaxon needed to help too. So, we pushed two chairs over and the boys cleaned my dishes. Jamie supervised but for the most part Aidan did a good job. There were some things we need to run over again but for the most part he's a pro. A little more practice and he is hired full time.
Mom and Dad, this picture is for you. Over Spring break we found this for the wall at Bed Bath and Beyond. I have always wanted to have something fun and different and when we found it we knew it was coming home. Right now the pictures are of just our immediate family however, down the road it would be fun to add grandparents, cousins and extended family.

I noticed that family tree today and was going to comment on it, but obviously forgot! I love it! :)
that tree is so amazing! Is it vinyl? Did it come with the frames? so cool.
Love the tree :)
And totally an advocate of child labour myself ... just this morning Kai helped empty the dishwasher, vacumn and dust. I love it!
I agree that child labor is a very good thing! Train them up early...but I had to laugh really hard when I saw Jamie supervising the boys washing dishes when I think about how much he complained when he had to do it growing up!!! :-) Love the tree as well!
I'm sure that child labor is advocated in the Bible. I believe in the book of Hezekiah :) Anyway, make hay while the sun shines. They won't think it is fun for many years. They do look precious.
The Family Tree is great. But then Family Tree has always been special to you. I think it is a really cool look. Thanks for the post.
