Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Wow! What a weekend we have had. As you can see from this first family self portrait we are having a good time. Friday night Jamie and I went out on our first date and left our little one with Mama B and PaB. I must say that as a mom I now understand and can empathize with the emotions that many mothers feel when they leave their child for the first time. However, I vowed that I would not be the kind to phone 5 or more times throughout the evening to find out how he was doing. That would have defeated the purpose of going out on a date night anyhow. Jamie and I had a great time. It was really good for the two of us to connect and talk. Very well needed; thanks Mama B and PaB.
Saturday my friend from Vancouver came out to see Aidan for the first time. It was so great to see you Meagan. I do hope that we will continue to work at seeing each other whenever possible. It was great to catch up with our lives. And thanks again for the great outfit. He will look so handsome in it. When he wears it I will take a picture and post it for you:)
Saturday evening Dan and Erin Kim came over. It was great, they brought dinner and dessert and we just hung out. It was good to connect with friends that we don't necessary see on a regular basis. Thanks again guys for bringing dinner and dessert it was a real treat.
And of course Sunday was Canadian Thanksgiving. Some of you who read this are probably asking yourself "why does she refer to it as Canadian Thanksgiving?" For me, it will always be Canadian Thanksgiving. It is so weird to me to celebrate Thanksgiving so early. In the states it was so perfect because Thanksgiving came and you knew that Christmas was not too far behind. It marked the opening of the holiday season. Now, Thanksgiving is just a long weekend. There is no marking of any holiday except to say that school has been in session for a month. However, it is good to be reminded of all the things that we have to be thankful for. As you can probably tell from the picture above; I have a lot to be thankful for. I have a wonderful and most handsome husband, the cutest and healthiest little boy, and much much more. God has truly blessed my life in so many ways. And for that I must say "thank you." Posted by Picasa

Hi Megan,

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy! He is so sweet, and speaking from experience, boys are so cool!!! Connell is now 16 months - and we are having such fun. Can you send me your email so we can keep in touch - love to talk to you more. Here is mine mshandler@gmail.com
Congratulations on your wise decision to do what feels right re: breastfeeding. Motherhood is so much about trusting your own intuition.
Talk to you soon!
Love, Meralon
