Well, we are here in Michigan having a great time. My parents decided that they wanted to throw Aidan his 1st birthday party a bit early because they won't be able to come to Abbotsford for his official bday. I think that we all have learned that a bday, anytime, is a bday as long as your with family/friends. So what if it is a bit early:)

Nana, Papa and Uncle Ben have completely spoiled Aidan. For his birthday he got some new Robeez (baseball ones), a cup with his name on it, a Michigan baseball cap (he is sporting in the next picture) and some money to get a fun water table when we get home.

Doesn't he look so cute with his new hat!?! It is a perfect replacement for the Adidas hat we lost at Mill Lake.
We decided to have him go shirtless for the evening because he has been tremendously drooly and the cake was going to get messy...

For some reason he did not want to touch his cake...of course, when he tasted it he dug right in and didn't care that he was getting dirty. I think for his first birthday cake it was a real hit.

Our little ham!
Aidan just got up from his morning nap. We are planning on spending the evening with a friend of mine from high school and his wife and three girls! I am looking forward to seeing them again. We always try and connect with them while we are here...catching up is fun. Of course that means Aidan gets some quality time with his Nana and Papa.
We'll see if I can blog again while we are here....

Not sure why we didn't see this post before today but it was soooooooooooooo good to see you and Aidan Megs! Looks like you have had a wonderful time with your family and I echo Heather's thoughts....Dad and I are both looking forward to seeing you all this week! Have a good flight!
Megan, you're right...a birthday anytime is a birthday long as you're with family/friends. The same holds true for Christmas!
We've made some "adjustments" over these past three years . . . Tehya and Paeton even celebrated Natalie's BD in Indonesia (without her) with a cake and candle, sending wishes and smiles via the internet. Looks like you had a great time!
Aidan, nice hat! Great birthday party, even if it was a month early. Cake and corn on the cob everywhere. Fun memories for us all. Hope he enjoys the toys. Give him a hug from us all. Love, Papa..........
