Two Months and More.....

I can't believe that two months has already passed; life has just flown by and Jaxon is getting so big. We had his check up yesterday with our family doctor and everything looks good. He weighs in at 12.5 lbs and is 23.5 inches long. I don't know what percentile that puts him in but the doctor did not seem concerned at all. When I looked back at Aidan's stats at two months he weighed 14.5 lbs. I shouldn't really compare the two since Aidan was on formula and I am still nursing Jaxon. But he is definitely growing and filling out. He's not doing too bad at sleeping during the night. We aren't sleeping through the night but only getting up once in the middle of the night and then up around 6-7am. Of course, I would love to not have to get up at all during the night but for right now I can't complain.

This past week we spent a couple of nights in Moses Lake, Washington. It was great just getting away even if it was only for a couple of days. Jaxon seemed to enjoy getting his feet wet. Jaxon ended up getting the cold that Aidan had so we didn't keep him out in the heat for long periods of time.
We are finding that Jaxon seems to be as stubborn if not more than Aidan. We have been trying to get him to take naps in his crib and he has not been complying. He will fall asleep on a person or in his swing but then as soon as you move him to the crib he wakes up and cries. We have left him for awhile to see if he would just let go and fall asleep but so far.....no luck. However, today we have made progress. A friend of mine told me to try to lay him on his stomach to see if that would change anything and he slept for over an hour. He did this twice! I am so thrilled. I am hoping that this continues and we can start to get in a routine with him. Keep your fingers crossed.

While we were in Moses Lake there was a playground that Aidan was able to enjoy. At the place we were staying Aidan had a queen bed all to himself. We were able to push it up against one of the walls of the room and then we lined the other side and the end of the bed with pillows and he didn't fall off. He was such a big boy. So, when we got home we decided to take the rail off his bed so that he could get use to sleeping and so far so good. He has done so good. We wanted him to get used to sleeping without his rail so that when he has to sleep at grandparents he can do so and we don't have to worry.

As you can tell Aidan loves the water too. Because the water was so warm up at Moses Lake he just going deeper and deeper. At one point I looked out and Jamie and Aidan had walked out in the water up to Aidan's chest. He is really starting to love the water. He wanted to go to the beach the whole time we were there.

We have found that Aidan enjoys lemons and the other night we ordered in Greek food and it came with a couple of lemon wedges. He was having so much fun putting them in his mouth and sucking on them. I think the picture speaks for itself.

We got a trampoline for the backyard this summer and Aidan has absolutely loved every minute he has gotten out on it. He loves to do bum drops and throw balls around on the tramp. I will try to get some pictures of him for next time posting.

Please forgive the angle of this video. Aidan has learned how to blow bubbles in the bath and the other night he kept doing it over and over and having such a wonderful time laughing about it. He really enjoys his bath time and he and Jamie have a good time.

I can't believe that we are heading into the last month of summer. The time has gone by so quickly and before I know it Jamie will be back at school and it will just be me and the boys. I start work this next month to get back into the swing of things with the extra help of Jamie around. So that when he returns to work Aidan, Jaxon and myself will have started getting use to the new non-summer schedule.

That video is so fun! Thanks for posting....not sure why your first three pictures aren't showing up but hopefully you can try again and we can enjoy them as well.

I'm glad that your brief respit at Moses Lake was a success and the boys enjoyed themselves. Hope you and Jamie had time to relax as well. I think the boys are going to enjoy the water - maybe I should teach them to sail some day. I hope your return to work doesn't add to much to your schedule. Can't wait to see you all. Love Papa..............
