14 Days and Counting till Mexico!

One of these things is not like the other ones....can you tell that the boys have their daddy's baby blues?? What happened to brown being dominant?!? I am not complaining I have always loved Jamie's blue eyes and always wanted our children to have this eye color. I definitely got my wish.

About a week ago Jaxon had scooted himself under the couch so Aidan decided to join him. It was so precious to sit and watch them talk and laugh at each other. They are really starting to interact more these days.

This week has been a good and one with lots of fun pictures. I have realized that Jamie and I are not good at thinking to take pictures. I am trying to be better at it since it is great when we get good ones. Normally I think "that would be a good picture" and the moment is gone. Trying to re-enact the moment just does not even come close to what the true moment was.

I think that our family is almost back to full health. Jaxon still have a bit of a runny nose but for the most part we are getting better. Our home has not been completely healthy since the beginning of January. It is about time.

Jaxon is getting much more mobile but not crawling. It can pretty much move around in a circle around his toys on the ground but if we leave the room he can't follow after and that makes him quite unhappy.

The face of a troublemaker!

I was trying to get dinner ready, feed Jax; the other night while waiting for Jamie to get home from work; and I let Aidan color at the kitchen table. He was being so quiet that I just thought everything was fine because he was not asking for my help and I was trying to use my precious time to get everything done. All of a sudden I realized that it was too quiet over at the kitchen table. I went over to see how he was doing and found this...

Silly kid thought it would be fun to write all over himself instead of the coloring book. Good thing the markers are washable. :) That's what I get when I try to do too many things all at once. But honestly isn't that my job?

Basketball is over now for Jamie. His team played on Wednesday evening and lost. It was sad to see their season come to an end but at the same time it was nice to know that this season of long days/nights has come to an end. We have had tons of fun spending time in the gym cheering the Huskies and getting to know the parents of Jamie's boys.

Today (Saturday) was beautiful so we decided to take the boys to the park to play. It is hard for me to take the boys to the park lots during the week because of my work schedule and this way Aidan would have daddy all to himself. He had so much fun walking across these hanging steps. He could do several steps on his own. He was so proud of himself.

Ever since Aidan was old enough to sit up he has loved the swings. He has never really wanted to try the big kid swings yet but he sure loves swinging high.
We have been trying to help Aidan learn the importance of listening and obeying. Most of the time we have to give him an ultimatum of some sort before he will follow instruction. However, he has his shining moments when he automatically does what we ask. I am trying not to lose my patience with him but there are some days that it is so hard. I am recognizing the importance of asking God everyday for the patience to help Aidan listen and obey. I know I have a long way to go but I know it is important.

How can you not love this face?!?
In 14 days Jamie and I will be leaving on a jet plane for Mexico alone (no kids)! We are so excited and at times it doesn't even seem real. It has been several years since Jamie and I went on a vacation just the two of us. It is going to be so good for us. To get away and focus on each other and rejuvenating ourselves . My parents are coming to stay with the boys and spend some quality time with them. Jamie and I are so grateful to my parents for being willing to come and help us out with this. I am starting to talk to Aidan about Nana and Papa coming for a visit so that he is not surprised when we leave. I know that once we are gone he is going to have a wonderful time playing, making cookies and getting doughnuts with Nana and Papa.
Speaking of Nana....it is her bday today! Happy Birthday Mom/Nana!
