Where we have been.....

It is rather embarrassing that it has been so long since my last post. I do have good reasons for the lack of posts....since the last time I posted our house has been battling colds, croup, bronchitis and an ear infection. I can't say that we are 100% healthy but I can say we are on the mend (I hope). We have not been to church for 3 weeks! I can tell you that I am so done with being sick or having sick kids. Jamie is the only one that seems to come out of this time unscathed. Which of course is a good thing but so weird at the same time. It is craziness.
In between the sickness we have done a lot of things.
1. Aidan is signed up for preschool in the fall - Jamie and I could not believe we were already at the point where we could/need to think about that. I think it will be really good for Aidan as he can be rather timid around other kids. He will be going to CHC preschool.
2. Jamie and I headed to Penticton for a grade 8 basketball tournament that his team was in. It was a lot of fun except for the time when I was sick....I thought I was just getting Aidan's cold but it turned out that I had bronchitis (along with Aidan).
3. Jamie and I have booked our tickets to Mexico!! Yes, that's right we are finally heading out on a bit of a getaway. We are so looking forward to it.

Jaxon got his first ear infection this week. Tuesday afternoon he came down with a fever and became rather lethargic. I was a bit concerned because that morning we had just been to the dr. and he had said that if Jax developed a fever I should bring him back in because of the concern he might be our bronchitis. That night it was the worst night ever with Jaxon. He did not want to sleep in his crib and cried for over an hour until I gave in and decided that I would just hold him. Jamie and I traded off throughout the night and Jaxon only slept for 20 minutes at a time.

So, he isn't crawling yet...but he is oh so close. He is just so laid back that he doesn't really care to. We looked back at some pictures of Aidan at this age and he was already crawling and pulling himself on things. Jaxon seems to have no desire to do so. So, funny to see the difference in their personalities. Aidan was never content to just be and Jaxon doesn't really seem to care. Its so fun looking back at pictures and watching the difference in the two of them. Who knew you could have two kids that look so much alike (and like their dad) but be so different :)

Some great pictures Megs!! And don't worry about Jaxon not crawling...one of these days he will take off running like his father, who never did learn to crawl until after he was 2 and had surgery on his foot so he couldn't walk! See you soon!
