Jamie and I were able to get away for the first week of Spring Break just two weeks ago and it was fabulous! This was the view from my sunning station:) The place where we went was a small resort with only 50 units so it was rather quiet and private. We had beautiful weather the entire time we were there.
Our restaurant where we had great food. The guacamole was outstanding. We would have lunch at a table near where would would plant ourselves for the day. The restaurant was right on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean. The sunsets we were able to witness every night during dinner were beautiful.
I think this is our favorite picture from the week. We have gotten rather good at taking self-portraits because whenever we want to take a picture there is usually no one around to take it for us. This was our first night there and we were able to walk our stretch of beach as the sun was going down.
We had about 2-3 km stretch of beach that was ours to roam and explore. We probably went walking almost everyday and enjoyed the waves. We were not right in Puerto Vallarta but about 45 minutes outside of Puerto Nuevo.
This was the view from our suite. We could see the ocean and the pool area as well. It was quite nice. Our little deck even had a lounge bed...so fun!
We decided to do one excursion while we were there. We took a taxi into Puerto Vallarta one day and walked along the Malacon and then took a boat across the bay to an area that they light up with over 1200+ candles and torches. They serve you dinner right on the beach or cliff overlooking the water; very romantic! . The meal was fabulous and then there is a Mexican show they they put on.
Jamie tried some wake boarding at the resort. He had a fun time. I don't really like playing in the ocean all that much so I just sat and enjoyed watching him instead. It was a perfect combination.

It was a great time for the two of us to get away and focus on one another. This was the first time that we were able to get away since our trip to Europe which was the summer after we got married. So, it was high time to get away. We were able to come back home re-energized, renewed and re-focused. I would highly recommend it to any couple.

I like the smaller resorts! The place looks beautiful and it looks like you almost have it to yourselves! Beautiful beach! So good you could get away. It reminds me of what we did quite often, leaving our kids with mom and dad and going. It's so good if you can do that.
Megan and Jamie, thanks for sharing some of your pictures from Mexico. Glad you guys had a good time. Your right, we all do need occasions to re-energize and re-focus and re-new. Glad that happened for you both. We sure did have fun with the boys; exhausting but fun and a great memory for us all. Thanks again, Love, Dad.....
Oh my gosh.....how beautiful! That's first photo took my breath away. So glad you got some down time. You deserve it.
