Life in the Beck Household has been nothing but busy to say the least. Since my last post (Jaxon's birthday) Aidan and Jaxon had the flu; I fainted a week later on Saturday night for the first time and spent 5 hours in the ER taking me two days to recover and we have been having small renovations happening. Don't worry I am fine. (Thanks for wondering) =). The doctors don't really know what was wrong with me. I think it was just a different version of the flu that the boys had earlier. In all of the sickness, Jamie has somehow come away unscathed. It is really quite amazing.
(can you tell he loves his brother)
So enough about me and on to better things. The small renovations that have been happening and that are still in process are:
1. mint green rock fireplace in rec room - GONE. replaced with drywall to make it more updated. NEEDS - fresh coat of paint then we are done. (kind of)
2. New Cedar Fence for backyard. The old 30 year old fence is down and we will be getting out new fence next Saturday! YAHOO. And no we are not doing it ourselves. That would be disastrous.
3. Semi- Kitchen Remodel! yes, ladies you read that correctly! Starting next week the demolishing will be begin and my kitchen will be changing slightly. We are planing on opening it up a bit to our living room to create a bit more of a great room style.
Pictures to come.....
It seems that since we have started the first reno the other have just followed. I don't think that we ever thought that it would all happen in a months time but the rate we are going it could be done by the end of June (fingers crossed).
Jaxon has decided that he is a big boy now and really has not desire for baby food anymore. He wants to eat what you are having and with his 3 1/2 teeth he makes it happen. In the past two weeks he has added the following foods to his menu:
salmon
grilled potatoes
lunch meat
yogurt (with fruit chunks)
toast
pizza/breadsticks
chocolate chip cookies (from Superstore)

Whenever we go to Superstore for groceries Aidan has gotten a cookie when we are all done shopping. The last couple of times
Jaxon has noticed the cookie and asks for one too. The nice bakery ladies give one to him as well. We break pieces off and he loves it! I made the mistake last weekend of running down a different aisle while Jamie went down another with the boys and cart.
Jaxon was less than impressed. I could hear him two aisles away screaming for his cookie. When I returned I was given quite the scold look from him. I would just give him the cookie but he has not learned the fine art of biting off pieces. Instead he gums things still (hence only 3 1/2 teeth). You can probably imagine the mess I would have on my hands then.

We have also graduated
Jaxon from the highchair to a booster seat at the table. The high chair just took so much room and was just getting in my way in our new eating area. I decided that it was time to put it away. Aidan moved to the travel booster seat we have and
Jax gets the higher one. You can tell he loves sitting at the table with everyone now. This was one morning after he had his toast. He decided it would be fun to play with the plate.

Aidan has been doing amazing with keeping himself dry at nights this week. Last weekend and earlier this week he was every morning so we asked him if he would like to try to wear underwear to bed. He definitely liked that idea and I bribed him that if he kept himself dry the next night I would take him for a doughnut! When I went in to get him that morning he proudly told me he was dry and asked if we could go to Tim Horton's. It was so cute! Since then he continues to stay dry! I think it has clicked with him. I think we can finally say he is completely 100% potty trained. We decided not to rush or push him being dry during the night since many people told us it would just happen for him when it happened. They were right! I think he just needed to do it on his own.

Jamie only has two more weeks of school before his summer break! I can't believe this school year has gone so fast. I don't think he can believe it either. He has kept himself very busy with coaching and everything else that he does. It will be nice to have him around this summer.
Ahhhh summer! What great fun we will have!
