Overwhelming

I have to be honest that it has been difficult to figure out what to blog about since it has been so long since the last time I had the time to sit and blog. There are so many pictures from our Christmas season. We received 5 cd's of pictures from Jamie's parents from our time together with everyone and we downloaded 200+ pictures during our time in Michigan with my family. Where do you even start??The pictures are totally out of order because I did not put them in the correct order when adding them to this post. The first several pics are from our time in Michigan and the rest is from the Beck's Christmas.
Like I said, way too overwhleming....
We had a good time with my family. It was so nice to go and just hang out and not have lots of things planned. We did take one morning and afternoon and go to the Children's Museum. The boys absolutely love it there. There are so many fun things to do. Jaxon was thrilled with the elevator. He would get all excited when we would ride it up and down and when we eventually had to get off he threw a bit of a fit.
Aidan and Nana have started a bit of a tradition in making sugar cut-out cookies together and then we all ice them togeother. Jaxon even tried it this time but once he tasted the icing he just continued sucking on the butter knife he had. He was not at all interested in the cookie part.
Aidan got the Polar Express Christmas Movie and Book from my parents and I think my dad probably new the entire book by heart by the time we said goodbye. Aidan wanted to read it everynight before he went to bed. I think Dad was a bit suprised that Aidan wanted him to read to him just because my dad is not a reader and my mom loves to read. We realized though that this is how Aidan is like this at home with Jamie's parents as well. He always goes to Pa for stories and reading books....
Our time with Matt & Heather (Kai) and Darin & Jody (Caily and Lexi) and Mimi and Pa was lots of fun and full of great memories and moments. It was great to watch Aidan and Caily become more and more familiar with one another and enjoy to play with each other. Jaxon of course was not going to be left out and he jumped right in to play with them.

We had so many activities planned that in hindsight we have said we would probably not put so many things into our days/evenings the next time. On the calendar it didn't look so bad but it was so tiring.
One late morning Jody, Caily, Lexi and Mimi came over to our house to hang out and make cookies. We gave Caily and Lexi the task of unwrapping the hershey kisses for the cookies. They both enjoyed being apart of the process but it was evident that Caily took her job very seriously. She did it so fast and so efficiently we just could not stop laughing at her. She never even once thought about eating one of the chocolate kisses.....whereas Aidan kept asking if he could eat them.

It was so funny how when the three of them would sit together how very alike they looked. You know they are related but they could even be brother and sister to some.
Jamie's parents wanted to go do the Stanley Park Christmas Train one afternoon and what a great idea it was. Aidan got to sit right at the front of the train and I don't think he breathed the entire time. He was so excited! He loved all of the lights. Afterwards we headed back to Jamie's parents house for dinner and hang out time. I believe almost every night we would put the kids down for bed and then pick them up and take them home later in the evening.

It was a time great! Thanks to Darin and Jody and Heather and Matt for making the trek and coming to spend some fun quality time together. And also to Dave and Doris for feeding us all for a week and a half.
I have now turned the big 30! Jamie surprised me with a bit of a bday party dinner out with some friends. It was a wonderful surprise as I had no idea what was planned. He came home from school last Friday and took the boys out and when they came back Aidan was carrying pink roses in for me and Jaxon had a People magazine! It was so cute! Aidan picked out the flowers all my himself. And they are absolutely beautiful. We then dropped them off and his parents and headed to the restuarant. It was great to celebrate the evening with some good friends.
I wondered if I would feel any different because I was now 30 but it doesn't feel any different. Jamie and I were talking about it and even through we are 32 and 30 we really don't feel like it. Kind of hard to explain but we are still feel like we are in our 20's.

One last cute picture to leave you with. The boys and Caily with their Unkie Matt! Lots of fun times and lots of fun memories! I hope that they will remember all of the fun they do have with their Unkie's and Auntie's!

Thanks for the post, I don't think that I am going to tackle a Christmas post, it was way too overwhelming and so I just moved on. It was so fun to be able to spend time with you all and I loved watching the kiddos interact, makes it that much harder to live far away.
