This past weekend we went to the Bright Nights at Stanley Park. We had done this last year with all of the cousins but since it is just us here this Christmas we went anyways with Mimi and Pa. I think we have started a tradition for the holidays.
We arrived earlier than our scheduled train ride and we beat the rain so we were able to walk around and see all of the lights. We all really enjoyed it but especially the boys. Jaxon was talking a mile a minute.
I asked Pa to take a picture of me and my Handsome Man. We don't really have many pics of just us anymore. I think it turned out pretty good. This was the first weekend he was around in over a month. We definitely are happy to have him around.
Aidan has always been a difficult one to get to smile on command. He is our boy that does not like being told what he needs to do when especially when it is for pictures. At least now he is getting better at not just giving scowls and he just looking at the camera. I love the picture above with Mimi and the boys. They are standing on a tree stump and Jaxon is getting squashed in the middle and Aidan thought it would be fun to stick his tongue out.
Our train ride was for 3:30pm but we asked if we could get in line for the 3:00 train because we were there so early and it had started to rain. They had no problem with that so we waited for in line but under a canopy and out of the rain. The boys did a good job at waiting.
Oh, how I love this boy!
Jaxon did not want his daddy to hold him so he was trying to get back to me. I don't think it was really the fact that he didn't want Jamie but he loves playing that game.
Last year that were several more of us together on this train. At this point it was raining and it had gotten colder. The boys did not seem to be phased by the cold though. I kept asking them and they never complained.
Aidan not wanting to smile for the camera. At this point I think he was done waiting and he just wanted the train to get going.
I love this look! He loved the train and loves Christmas lights. I think it was the perfect activity for this boy. He was completely enamored. I don't even think he said two words on the train. He just sat and took everything in.
After the train ride we went to the petting farm. Aidan really liked the rabbit area because he could lean down and actually pet the bunnies. Jaxon got right in there too but we had to lift him up.

All in all it was a great Saturday afternoon. It was a great way to start off our Christmas holiday's together as a family and enjoy it with Mimi and Pa as well. Maybe next year we can do it with everyone again!
