Easter

This Easter weekend has truly been an enjoyable one so far. Yesterday, I sang in an ensemble for our Good Friday service at church and will be singing on Easter Sunday as well. It has been a big time commitment but definitely worth it. It has been a good time of reflection. I have been blessed to be able to join with other singers to glorify our Lord. It has truly been a blessing. I am thankful to Jamie for his willingness to take the boys so that I can do something that I love.

Yesterday afternoon we decided to take the boys to see the movie Rio. We invited Jamie's parents to come along. The boys were so excited to go see the movie. They had no idea what the movie was about but they thoroughly enjoyed it and the popcorn. Jamie and I got ourselves watching the boys on several occasions as they were so engrossed in the movie. Jaxon ate tons of popcorn and sat through the entire movie. I thought for sure we would be taking at least one bathroom break. Aidan loved the movie and hasn't stopped talking about it and now his own Mackaw blue bird. We had our Easter egg hunt today as the weather is absolutely gorgeous. Aidan was so excited. We told him that after he went and had breakfast with Pa we would have the hunt. I think he ate his breakfast in record time and couldn't wait to get back home. Jamie's dad said he has never seen Aidan it so fast. He was definitely a boy on a mission. I love starting traditions with our boys. Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets and even coloring hard boiled eggs were just some of the traditions that I had growing up. I can easily look back at my life growing up and remember having special traditions that we would do. Along with traditions, Jamie and I also want to make sure that the boys recognize the real meaning of what Easter is all about. Aidan most definitely knows and with time I pray they it will become a deeper understanding for both boys. Pa and Mimi came for the Easter egg hunt today. It was fun having them here to join in the fun. I do wish my family could be near during holidays like these. It is such a great time to be together as a family. It makes me look forward to the time when my parents will be coming.....soon. Yay! The boys were thrilled to find candy hidden inside the Easter eggs. I believe they will be on a sugar high for the rest of the weekend.

A transformation of sorts has happened with our Aidan. As you can see he had a haircut. A well needed haircut. He told me before going that he wanted a "hawk". He explained to me and Jamie exactly what he wanted. I decided to let him go for it. He told Dawn (our hairdresser and friend) what he wanted and this is how he came home :) Proud as punch to have "hawk". I can't believe what a difference a hair cut can make. He looks so much older. He is definitely growing up and I love it.....hawk and all.
