This week (on Thursday) our Jaxon turned 4. He was so excited for his bday. We celebrated for 3 days straight. We definitely love to party around here.
On Thursday he opened his presents. Aidan picked out a Power Ranger figure for him. He was thrilled! Jax is also into Playmobil and a week or two before his bday we went to House of James and he showed me some of the things he would like. We ended up getting him the Pirate Ship which he was over the moon about. It took Jamie over 2 hours to put together.
On Saturday, he had his first friend birthday party. I have to admit we do not make these things elaborate (as you can tell by the cake). The boy wanted a strawberry cake. So, I asked him if he meant that it would have strawberries on top. Thankfully that is what he wanted. Sure made things easier for me.
He only wanted three friends over and it was perfect. He wanted to have a Movie Night theme so that is just what we did. They played for a bit, had lunch, watched the movie, had cake and presents and ended by playing some more. I must say they were all on a huge sugar high by the end.
We also celebrated with Jamie's family where Jax got MORE playmobil. Both sets of grandparents put their money together and got him a castle. The thing is huge. Thankfully, daddy is good at putting these things together. What a special little man we have. I can't believe he is four already! Oh, how we love him so.
Sunday was the Run for Water race that Aidan and I participated in. We ran the 5km race. He was so excited to do it and I was excited to share this time with him. This is us pre-race waiting for the officials to let us go. I don't think he realized how many people were going to be running so the crowds were a bit daunting but he was amazing.
We had just started and had gone up a bit of a hill and we saw Jamie and the rest of the family. They were cheering us on and it brought the best smile to his face. Aidan ran the entire 5 km. He asked to walk once but it only last for 5 seconds or so. I was utterly shocked at his athletic ability to run as far as he did. He finished the race in 38 minutes. For his age group ( 7yrs and under) he came in 27th out of 102 kids!
He was so proud of his medal! He wore it for most of the day. I was so proud of him. I think that we have started an annual family tradition. The only person we have to get on board is daddy. It shouldn't be too hard, right??
