Little Ligers

Baseball started for the boys this past week (Wednesday evening).  It is a group of parents from our church that decided to start up a baseball group for all of their kids to learn the fundamentals and to just have fun.  They have an advanced group (Grades 1 -3) and a Preschool groups.
We opted to put Aidan in the Advanced group since we new that he would know a lot more of the kids and he has played a bit more than the average boy.  Aidan had a blast. The Advanced group is the perfect fit for him.  The coach is a friend of ours and he and his family are in our Life group.  The way he was drilling and teaching the kids was the perfect style for Aidan.  He hung on every word that Coach Billy said.  It was hilarious.
After they warmed up doing stretches and practicing throwing they were able to hit.  I just love this picture because you can see that he is putting everything into his hit and his form isn't too bad.  I have to thank Kayla for taking my phone and taking pictures. Her two brothers are apart of the group and this gave her something to do.  She did an amazing job of capturing my boys and their moments.
We weren't sure if Jaxon was really going to stay captivated or be dedicated to playing but as you can see, I think he likes it.  He spent most of his time hanging with his friend E. Before the practice Jaxon told Jamie that he didn't want to be separated from Aidan. Jamie told him that he would stay with him and his group.  That seemed to help.

They did some throwing, running the bases and hitting off of a tee.  It was pretty cute.  It was cute to watch the coach show Jaxon how to hold the baseball bat.  Jaxon listened and followed his instructions but the look on his face was one of, I already know this. When he was given the chance to take a crack at the ball, he nailed it!  It was cute.
Here they were practicing  throwing and catching.  This is definitely not his strong suit but he will get the hang of it if he wants too.  There were a couple of times when he wasn't watching and the ball hit the bill of his baseball hat.  Good thing for the baseball hat!  It was hilarious watching all of the kids. Those that were really into it and those that were having fun but not really caring.  It takes all kinds to make this world go round ;)

Here Jamie was on third base coaching the kids around the bases and Jaxon was telling his daddy to stop talking to him.  What a sweet moment to catch and one that melts my heart.  It was so fun for me to watch my boys and know that they were truly enjoying themselves, Aidan especially.  His whole being just lit up like a Christmas tree and Jamie and I both knew that this was the perfect thing for him.  He has found one of his many sport loves.  Jaxon enjoyed it but the joy did not exude like it did for Aidan.  It will be fun to see the choices these two make when it comes to sports
