More Driving and More Fun

We have just come back from a bit of time in Quesnel visiting Matt, Heather and Kai. We always enjoy the company and spending time with family but the weather....that is different. It seems that every time we go the weather turns and becomes COLD. This trip was no different. Thankfully, we have learned and we pack accordingly.
It was great getting to spend quality time with Kai. This time around he really seemed to gravitate to Unkie Jamie. Jamie introduced him to lots of "ball" on TV. He was thrilled. Every time Jamie would sit down to look for something on TV Kai would come running asking for "ball". So cute.

Doesn't Heather look good for being 9 months prego! Only 2 1/2 (maybe 3) weeks left! Can't wait to meet this new little one. Heather and I always would take self -portraits and I figured I should capture yet another one.
Unkie Matt gave the boys (Aidan and Kai) quad rides. Going for quad rides was one of the many things Aidan was looking forward to. I think as soon as we got to their house he asked if they could have quad rides. Jaxon didn't really want to go for a ride. Not sure why, but he wasn't very adventurous this time around.
Auntie had a great idea to bake a cake and let the boys decorate it. They loved it! They may have consumed as much candy while decorating. At one point, we found Kai with a mouth full and a hand full of jube jubes! It was great! With this cake we celebrated all three of the boys' bday.
For some reason this is how Aidan decided to smile. We have moved from frowning to give some interesting smiles...but I will take it. Thanks Auntie for the bday cake.
This was Kai's bday present from us! A ball pit. To say he loved it would be a bit of an understatement. He was absolutely over the moon about this ball pit. The boys picked it out for him and they were so excited to give it to him. We just now have to find more balls to fill it up completely. It was awesome to watch him play in it and love it.
Kai even got Unkie Jamie in the ball pit. It was so cute. He just kept asking and asking and finally Jamie gave in. Honestly, how can one say "no" to your cute nephew? Seriously, it is not possible. I am pretty sure Kai figured that out pretty quick with his Unkie. ;)
Our last afternoon there we went for a walk to get ice cream. It was a great walk, got us out of the house (or at least the boys) and satisfied that we finally got ice cream on this trip. Aidan remembered the first time we got ice cream. He asked us almost everyday if we were going to get ice cream. Jaxon loved it because he got his vanilla ice cream. He is so funny because given the choice he picks vanilla over any other flavor.
Kai inhaled his tastes of ice cream as well. I think he shared with mommy and daddy. And then of course he was in charge of putting our bowls in the garbage. He takes this job very seriously and does it so well....even if he tries to put a bottle in the mailbox.
Auntie and Unkie got Aidan two water guns for his birthday. After we got ice cream we came back and they had a water fight. It was the warmest day we had there so it worked out well. Eventually after getting each other all wet they went hunting together to get the dog. Aidan loved it! Aidan loves his Unkie Matt. Matt has always been a great Unkie in playing with the boys and just spending time with them. So, they always know when Unkie is around they are going to have a blast.
Here they were stalking their prey! They had found her and were trying to sneak up on her. The poor girl hated every minute of it but they had fun! Afterwards they gave her some love and affection and I think she forgave them.

Thanks Matt and Heather for letting us invade your home. We had a great time!
